Florida Collegiate Summer League Team Membership Information
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of 27 hard working, talented and energetic college student-athletes every summer? Coaches from colleges around the country send their top level players to our league to improve their wood bat skills against strong competition. We are the only summer league in Florida partially funded by Major League Baseball. We recruit players through their college coaches; they do not pay to play. We follow all NCAA guidelines.
Do you want to offer over 20 family-friendly events (games) to your community every summer? With our festive atmosphere, civic groups’ involvement, and volunteer-orientated operations, our games are the very definition of community-building.
Do you love baseball, and want to be involved in America’s sport at its purest level – college players on the field chasing their dream of making it to the big show? Over 160 of our players have been drafted in just nine seasons. We had 32 players drafted in the 2012 MLB draft. Baseball America ranks us as one of the top summer collegiate leagues in the country. The Florida League is partially funded by Major League Baseball.
A team in the Florida Collegiate Summer League gives baseball supporters a share in the future of college players working towards a professional career. It allows people to join an organization which provides players with remaining college eligibility an opportunity to display and enhance their skills against top notch competition. It’s good for professional baseball, contributes to your community and to college baseball as well.
Florida League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity. More so than other college summer leagues, the Florida League handles most of the administrative responsibility for each team. The operating expense to operate one team is about $50,000.
