Florida League Player of the Week - Week 4, 2026
SANFORD, Fla.- Throughout the 2026 season, the Florida Collegiate Summer League will honor two players at the conclusion of each week, an FCSL Player of the Week and an FCSL Pitcher of the Week. This week's honors represent performances from Monday, June 22 through Saturday, June 27. The weekly honors are selected via a vote of league coaches and officials.
The newest Florida League Player of the Week is Leesburg's Charlie Keller (Ball State). Keller led the Lightning offense this week, batting .429 with three home runs and 11 RBIs over five games. His production at the plate played a major role in Leesburg's 4-1 week. All three home runs came in Leesburg's sweep of the Sanford River Rats, with the second-year outfielder hitting two on Thursday and another on Friday
Keller's monster week moves him closer to Florida League history. The Ball State product has driven in 29 runs this season, a total that now sits just 12 away from the single season Florida League record, set by Winter Park's Tyler Rocklein in 2012. The Leesburg record for regular season RBIs is 38, set by Harrison Scanlon in 2016. With 47 career RBIs, Keller is also closing in on the Lightning career record of 61, set by Chase Durham in 2011 and 2012.
Daniel Irizarry (John Melvin Christian) is this week's Pitcher of the Week after posting a perfect 2-0 record with a 0.00 ERA, allowing just two hits and no earned runs over 8.1 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .080 batting average for the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs. He capped off the week with five scoreless, one-hit innings in Friday's 6-2 win over DeLand, helping lead the Diamond Dawgs to another victory in there 5 game winning streak.
Irizarry has been a two-way contributor for the Diamond Dawgs, who sit in second place in the Florida League entering the final days of June. On the mound, he has logged 14 innings with a 3.86 earned run average, striking out eleven hitters. At the plate, Irizarry is hitting .345 in 29 at-bats, driving in seven runs and reaching base at a .472 clip.
Additionally, the Florida League honors one player from each team that was not selected as Player or Pitcher of the Week.
