Florida League Players of the Week - Week 7, 2026
SANFORD, Fla.- Throughout the 2026 season, the Florida Collegiate Summer League has honored two players at the conclusion of each week, an FCSL Player of the Week and an FCSL Pitcher of the Week. This week's honors represent performances from Monday, July 13 through Sunday, June 19. The weekly honors are selected via a vote of league coaches and officials.
The final Florida League Player of the Week is Orlando's Roy Rodriguez (Eastern Florida State). Rodriguez put up monster numbers in the final week of the regular season, driving in 12 runs and logging eight hits in 16 at-bats. Even with one of the home runs and two of the RBIs coming in the first part of the suspended game finished on Wednesday, Rodriguez's numbers for the week are gargantuan.
He drove in three additional runs to finish the game Wednesday, then added another five-RBI performance in Friday's game against Leesburg, a narrow loss to the Lightning that included his second home run of the week. Rodriguez drove in at least one run in each of Orlando's four games on the week, doing his part as the Snappers attempted to make the playoffs.
The Snappers swept the final edition of the weekly awards, as the Pitcher of the Week was given to Geoffrey D'Amato (Seminole State). D'Amato let exactly three balls reach the outfield in his stellar start to end the year against Leesburg on Saturday, and one was a soft popout. The stats don't begin to tell the story of the dominance he showed. Leesburg hit into 15 ground ball outs, and one of Leesburg's two hits was a bunt single.
Including the two innings he was credited with from the suspended game that finished on Wednesday, D'Amato tossed ten innings without allowing an earned run, picking up his first win of the season on Saturday despite Orlando missing out on the playoffs. He finished the season with a 0.68 earned run average, allowing just two earned runs across 26.1 innings and striking out 27.
Additionally, the Florida League honors one player from each team that was not selected as Player or Pitcher of the Week.
